Your Pet's Care & Safety
Your Pet’s Care & Safety
Our commitment to the safety, wellbeing and happiness of every pet in our care
At Topend Pet Minders, your pet’s safety is our highest priority. We operate a small-scale, family-run pet care service from our rural Virginia property, allowing us to provide personalised care in a calm, closely supervised environment.
To ensure the wellbeing of all pets — and the safety of our family and resident animals — we have clear policies and procedures in place.
Insurance & Care Standards
Topend Pet Minders is fully insured, and all policies and procedures are designed to ensure a safe and secure environment for every pet in our care.
We take a proactive approach to risk management, supervision, and communication, giving pet owners peace of mind while their pets are with us.
Meet & Greet Requirement
Prior to any booking being confirmed, a mandatory meet and greet is required.
This allows us to:
- Ensure your pet is suited to our home-based environment
- Assess temperament, behaviour, and social compatibility
- Ensure the safety and comfort of your pet, our family, and our resident animals
Bookings cannot proceed without a successful meet and greet.
Pet Information Form
Before attending a meet and greet, all pet owners are required to complete and sign a Pet Information Form.
This form helps us understand:
- Your pet’s routine, behaviour, and personality
- Medical needs or special requirements
- Emergency contact details and veterinary preferences
This ensures we can provide safe, informed, and appropriate care at all times.
Vaccination Requirements
For the safety of all pets in our care:
- All pets must be fully vaccinated
- Proof of vaccination is required prior to any booking
Pets showing signs of illness or contagious conditions cannot be accepted.
Veterinary Care & Emergencies
All pets attending daycare or pet hosting will attend our local veterinarian, Ark Animal Hospital, if veterinary care is required.
Pet owners will be:
- Notified immediately of any incidents, injuries, or concerns
- Kept informed of any veterinary treatment required
- No action will be taken without prioritising your pet’s wellbeing and keeping you fully informed.
Our Property & Secure Environment
Our rural property is fully fenced and designed with safety in mind.
Dogs are cared for in a large, secure play enclosure featuring:
- A two-point entry system to prevent escapes
- Shaded outdoor areas
- A large, waterproof dog house equipped with a deck (for larger dogs)
Smaller dogs stay inside our home with me and my family, enjoying a calm, close, and nurturing environment.
All play and outdoor time is closely supervised.
A Final Word
By keeping our service boutique and intentionally limited, we’re able to provide the level of care, supervision, and attention we would expect for our own pets.
Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always come first.
